KABUL (AA): The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has reiterated its resolve in fighting corruption at all levels.
Ajmal Hameed Abdul Rahimzai, spokesperson of the Ministry, shared the recent achievements during a press conference at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC) here on Tuesday. During this press conference, he said the Ministry of Finance has received $ 189 million incentive fund via the Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund (ARTF) for reforms in its five key sections including income resources, organizational reforms, tax management, aid effectiveness and provincial budgeting. This fund would be spent in development projects via National budget considering the priorities, he said.
The MoF spokesman added this fund includes $ 900 million that the World Bank granted within three years (2016-2018) for bringing reforms, and $550 million of this amount has been received until now. Abdul Rahimzia also provided information about Afghanistan’s membership in Afghanistan Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), state of revenue collection this year, development budget expenditure, recent achievements by Eklil Hakimi, the Minister of Finance, during his recent visits to China and Saudi Arabia , and the first successful review of IMF’s three year program for Afghanistan.
He also shared information about the Minister’s trip to Korea, Azerbaijan and Georgia for boosting business affairs.
