CHAGHCHARAN (SW): Mohammad Amin Tokhi, Deputy Governor of Ghor, who was put on the Exit Control List (ECL) a few days ago by the Attorney General, following President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani’s decree, has been appointed as the acting governor of the province.
Prosecutor General in Ghor, after considering Tokhi’s case, had accused him of taking bribe, poor performance and misusing funds, had put him on the ECL.
Abdul Hai Khatibi, Spokesman for the Governor, confirming the news, told Salam Watandar that Tokhi has been appointed as the acting governor in Ghor.
Former governor, Sima Joyenda however, criticized the appointment of her deputy (Tokhi) as the acting governor. She said she has not resigned from her position and has been transferred from the province since she implemented the law against influential people.
She said that Mohammad Amin Tokhi, governor of Ghor, Ghulam Mohammad Paiman, head of administrative affairs in Ghor, Taj Mohammad Talash, Head of procurement in police headquarters and Mohammad Yousuf have been the four influential people who have wasted $ 117 million in reconstruction projects.
Joyenda was transferred to Kabul as the deputy governor last week but she turned it down
Hundreds of citizens in Ghor protested against her resignation and asked for her to return to Ghor as the governor of the province.
