FARAH CITY (SW) – An improvised explosive device blast killed at least 35 passengers and injured 10 on the main Herat – Kandahar highway.
Muhibullah Muhib, spokesman for the police headquarters in Farah, said the incident took place here around 08:00 am. He said a 303 model transport bus carrying passengers from Herat to Kandahar became the victim of this IED.
Women and children are among the victims, he said. He blamed the Taliban for the incident.
There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
