PUL-I-KHUMRI (SW): Gol Afrooz, a woman is tortured to death by her husband's family in Nahrain district of Baghlan.
A source in Nahrin district who does not want to be named, told Salam Watandar, one of the residents in the district's Tully village, has tortured his brother’s wife in collusion with her brothers.
According to him, the victim was first tortured with pliers then she was strangled to death.
Khadija Yaqin, the director of provincial of women's affairs, said the woman was pregnant with twins, who was killed by her husband's family.
According to the head of women's affairs of Baghlan, the cause of the incident is not yet clear, but the investigation has begun.
Mohammad Hussein, the district police Chief, said that Rohullah, the husband of the victim, claimed that one Mohammed Safdar had raped his wife. He added that the police, after review, handed the case to the prosecutor's office.
The police chief denied any awareness of the accused person. He added Ruhollah escaped from the scene of the crime after the murder of his wife, but the police have begun to investigate.
Salam Watandar wanted to have the views of prosecutor's office in Nahrain district on the case, but to no avail.
