QALAT (SW): The Taliban militants have lashed a young girl and a boy in public for having ‘extra marital affair’ in southern Zabul province.
Reports emerging from the area suggest the incident took place on Friday in the Sha Joy district.
A security source in the province, who did not wish to be named, told Salam Watandar that the Taliban in addition to lashing the couple, trussed a man in a tree and shot him dead.
The man was accused of committing a murder.
Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, Taliban Spokesman, released a communique and claimed responsibilities for both incidents but officials in the province have not commented on the incident so far.
