KABUL (SW): Nai –Supporting Free Media organization on Thursday revealed at least six journalist critical of government in Kandahar have been forced by police to stay home.
Mujib Khalwatgar, chief executive officer Nai, told a press conference here the provincial police chief has forced these six journalists in Kandahar to stay home due to ‘security concerns’. He said this move amounts to interference in personal affairs, but it would not stop journalists from doing their work.
The Nai CEO said forcing journalists to stay home would further harm the physical and psychological state of Kandahari journalists who are already working under hostile and harsh environment.
Salam Watandar wished to have the views of the provincial police chief on this matter, but repeated attempts yield no results.
