KABUL (SW) – The Kabul – Ghor highway and a number of roads inside Ghor province are closed due to the heavy snowfall, officials said on Tuesday.
The locals feared the persistent closure of roads might result in serious patients stranded.
Abdul Ghafoor Haqyar, director public works in Ghor, told Salam Watandar besides the Kabul – Ghor highway, the roads in seven districts of the province are closed due to the heavy snow. He advised the residents and transporters to avoid travelling until the weather is improved.
He added the private contractors as well as the department employees have started work on cleaning up the blocked roads.
Ghor is one of the mountainous provinces prone to heavy snow and rain resulting in road closures.
