HERAT CITY (SW): Ismael Khan, former governor of Herat province and notable Jehadi figure, has suggested President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani to consult Mujahedeen not foreigners to curb the militants.
Khan was addressing a gathering to mark the 38th year of Herat Uprising against the former Communist regime in Kabul. In his speech, the veteran leader said Mujahedeen can resolve the crises at hand. He blamed the government’s ‘uselessness’ for foreign ‘meddling’ in the country. Ismael Khan said men and women have paid sacrifices for the establishment of current system of governance.
He stressed the Mujahedeen would never leave the security forces alone, and if needed they would lift arms in support of the security forces.
A number of other speakers grilled the National Unity Government (NUG) leaders on the occasion for the prevailing insecurity and corruption in the country.
