KABUL (SW) – An IED blast inside a mosque in Kabul killed Mavlawi Samiullah Raihan and left 16 people injured, the Ministry of Interior confirmed on Friday.
In a statement posted on the social media, the MoI confirmed this IED attack took place at a mosque in the PD 9 Paktia Kot area during Friday prayers. It vowed the security forces would strive hard to arrest the perpetrators of this attack.
Mavlawi Raihan was known for his public support for the security forces and opposition towards the ongoing insurgency in the country. He was running a religious show on a private TV channel.
There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
