KABUL (SW): Afghanistan and Turkey have signed three memorandum of understandings on security cooperation, political advisory between the two countries’ ministries of foreign affairs and establishing a university in Kabul.
The ARG (Presidential Palace) said in a statement on Thursday that these memorandums would have been signed in the presence of both countries’ presidents during President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani’s trip to Turkey.
President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani attended a conference in Turkey on Thursday alongside his Turkish counterpart, Turkish and Afghan investors. He said on the occasion that Afghanistan’s government would pave the way for the internal and external investors to invest in the country.
Encouraging the Turkish investors, he said that the government would put efforts in collaboration with the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and other international institutions to ensure investment in Afghanistan is facilitated.
Najia Anwari, Head of Media Affairs at ARG, told Salam Watandar that Turkish officials have pledged in the session to cooperate in security, development, building human capacity and business in Afghanistan.
The statement said that the President has travelled to Ankara from Istanbul Thursday morning and there he met with Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish President and Ahmet Davutoglu the Prime Minister.
