KABUL (SW): The Department of Petroleum and Liquid Gas Enterprise (DPLGE) reported on readiness to control the fuel prices during the winter season.
Tamim Walid, the director of DPLGE, told Salam Watandar that the reservoirs will be used in case of prices hike during winter.
Recently liquid gas prices surged and the director of DPLGE justified the price surge as the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG 2017) in Turkmenistan, were being held. He stated that since the end of the AIMAG, 1 ton of liquid gas has dropped to 30 dollars and this decrease will reach to 80 percent.
He assured that the DPLGE has stores that retail liquid gas at a controlled rate in Kabul. The prices are higher in the provinces.
But, residents of Kabul are still worried about price hike during the winter season. However, the government has stepped in to control prices every winter.
