
KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Public Works on Tuesday approved contracts worth AFN one billion for road construction in three provinces.
Yama Yari, minister for MoPW, said on the occasion the projects would see Kabul – Ghazni and Kandahar – Arghistan roads rebuilt besides reconstruction of roads in Neeli city of Daikundi province.
He added the Kabul – Ghazni road would be built in a year by Islam Trading Consortium with the cost of $ 4 million. Contract for road construction in Neeli city worth AFN 631 million has been awarded to Naveed Noori, Dalim Bagrami and Tabish Omid Limited for 18 months. The Kandahar – Arghistan road costing AFN 15 million would be built by Aryan United Construction company by the end of this year.
Officials informed funds for these projects have been provided by the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank and the Afghan government.
