KABUL (SW): Former members of Wolesi Jirga (House of Representatives) formed an unofficial Wolesi Jirga chaired by Mohammad Arif Nawruzi today in Kabul.
The head of this unofficial WJ, Mohammad Arif Nawruzi who is a former member of WJ said the motive of the unofficial WJ is to bring cooperation between the government and the people and to strengthen the national unity among the residents of the country.
Nawruzi added that he will try to bring peace to the country and take affirmative steps in the nation-building process.
In its first day, the unofficial WJ called on the authorities to hold the provincial council elections together with the district council elections in order to prevent the excessive expenses.
Attaullah Luddin, a member of the High Peace Council and former member of WJ said the economic and security situation is shocking in the country and the problems of people are rising every day, therefore “let’s put hands together and find a way to solve these problems”.
Luddin added that they will serve as an unofficial Wolesi Jirga.
Meanwhile, dozens of civic organizations and political parties have been functioning in the country. Though, these political parties and civic institutions have always criticized the government and have discussed different issues through press conferences and unofficial reports.
