KABUL (SW): Ali Reza is a former drug addict who quit the addiction and has now launched a campaign seeking justice for a young woman who was burnt to death in central Ghor province.
At the exhibition of his drawings on the matter, Ali Reza said that the aim of it is to seek justice for Zahra and her children. Ali Reza was living in Iran as an Afghan refugee for years before returning to Afghanistan three years ago. After getting treatment against drug addiction, he joined drawing class. He is now quite good at it and has drawn many nice portraits and drawings.
His latest exhibition has been titled as ‘Justice Tent for Zahra’.
He said on the occasion that the purpose of his exhibition is also to campaign for child’s rights in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Weeda Saghari, a civil rights activist, told Salam Watandar that the government has two-day’s ultimatum to prosecute the assassinators who killed Zahra. She added if the government failed to act in this regard, a massive campaign would be launched. She alleged that many human rights institutions are corrupt in Afghanistan, and therefore they cannot bring fundamental changes.
Speaking to Salam Watandar, Mohammad Azim, Zahra’s father, said that he and his other children are facing threats, and cannot return to their hometown, unless, Zahra’s killers are persecuted publicly in Kabul.
It has been 10 days since Zahra’s burnt corpse is kept at a hospital in Kabul on the choice of her family that has been demanding justice.
