HERAT (SW) – The recent flash floods triggered by torrential rain killed 13 more people in Herat province, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
Jailani Farhab, spokesman for the provincial governor, told Salam Watandar the heavy downpour and floods have caused serious damage in the province. He said the Ghoryan, Rubat Sangi, Zindajan districts and capital, Herat city, have sustained most of the damage in this connection.
He confirmed at least 13 people lost their lives following the flash floods here. Farhad added the floods also damaged public and private property and agriculture land.
Spokesman for the governor said damage assessment teams have been sent to the affected areas for relief and rehabilitation operations.
