KABUL (SW): A blast at the Hussainia Mosque in the capital’s Qala Fatehullah neighborhood killed at least five people.
Eye witnesses told Salam Watandar it was a suicide attack, but official sources have not commented on the nature of the blast. Najib Dansih, deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Interior (MoI), has confirmed that five people died and 20 people got wounded in this attack. He said all victims of this attack are civilians.
Ismaeel Kawosi, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Health, has said five wounded people have been brought to the main public hospital for treatment.
According to the eye witnesses, the attack took place when worshipers were leaving the mosque after prayers. No group or individual has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has condemned this attack. In a statement, he said the terrorist groups have no other objectives but to kill civilians at such sacred places of worship.
