KABUL (SW) – A member of the Independent Election Commission has said final results of the presidential polls held in September last year are due on Tuesday.
Mohammad Haneef Danishyar said in case there are no technical problems, the final result of the presidential election will be announced on Tuesday or latest on Wednesday. He had said yesterday that the final results of the presidential election would be announced in the next three to four days, but today he said that the wait would end soon.
Although, he said yesterday that there had been no significant changes in the election results, but today he said the commission has no prior information about any change in the primary results for the presidential election. According to him, the results will be compiled by the system.
The process of special investigation and recounting concluded on Monday, but disputes between election commissions and a number of electoral groups remain.
