KABUL (SW): General Abdul Rashid Dostum, the 1st Vice President (VP) has said he will return back to the country soon.
Talking to his followers via phone on the occasion of the 3rd provincial gathering of his Junbish-e-Mili Islami party on Thursday, he assured his followers of his well-being. He told the gathering that he will return to the country from Turkey soon. Rumors had it that the VP is exiled from the country. He rejected the rumors, and told his party members that there are opportunists who want to bring discord to the unity of the country.
Kanishka Turkistani, head of Junbish’s youth wing, told the gathering that some opportunists have conspired via social media against the VP.
Dostum has been blamed for allegedly ordering his guards to physically and sexually abuse Ahmad Ishchi, a senior politician in Jawzjan province.
