Dossier about foreign interference ready

18/10/2016

KABUL (SW): The Afghan government is seeking to compile documented proofs of foreign interference in the country, which would be shared with the United Nations’ Security Council (UNSC).

Tawab Gorzang, spokesman for the National Security Council has said that some foreign spy agencies are behind the ragging violence in Afghanistan. He added that the proofs have been gathered, which suggest terrorists in Afghanistan have ties with foreign spy agencies. This comes at a time when reports suggest that the Taliban have designated representatives for a number of regional countries.

Meanwhile, a Taliban splinter group led by Mullah Rasul has made contacts with the Kabul government for the proposed peace talks. Zalmay Zabuli, a member of the Wolesi Jirga (lower house) has said that his sources have confirmed a meeting between the Afghan officials, and representatives of the Mullah Rasul in Kabul three days back. He said that this delegation conveyed a message that their leadership wants a deadline for the exit of foreign forces from Afghanistan. Zabuli added that the government has assured them that the foreign forces would eventually leave Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, the Taliban’s Rasul faction has rejected reports about their meeting with the government officials in Kabul. Mawlawi Ibrahim, a shadow governor of this faction for Helmand, told Salam Watandar via telephone that they would only talk with the government if Sharia is enforced and foreign troops leave the country.
