TALUQAN (SW) – A deadly blast hit an electoral rally in Rustaq district of Takhar province causing casualties.
Khalil Aseer, spokesman for the police in Takhar, has said a motorcycle caused the blast in the afternoon at an electoral rally of a female candidate, Nazeefa Baig, for the forthcoming Wolesi Jirga (lower house) elections.
Eye witnesses said more than 30 people got killed in the attack.
There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
Four days ago, a candidate for the forthcoming elections and eight of his supporters got killed in a suicide attack in southern Helmand province. And, last week, 13 people got killed and more than 20 wounded in a similar attack in Nangarhar province.
