FIROZKOH (SW): The Daesh group swore allegiance to the Taliban in Ghor province on Sunday morning.

A number of security officials and the provincial council members told Salam Watandar that Daesh rebels have pledged allegiance to the Taliban after negotiations on Sunday morning in Raghsakan Morghab area in the north of the capital, Firozkoh.

Fazal Haq Ehsan, the head of the provincial council, said the talks were held between Sheikhulhunda, a Taliban commander, and Mullah Ahmad Shah, the shadow governor of Ghor and Daesh commander, Shah Wali. According to him, the allegiance took place after the Daesh rebels withdrew from Raghsakan Morghab area.

Ghulam Mustafa Mohseni, the provincial police chief, confirming the news informed that out of 18 Daesh families only 4 are remaining in the north of Firozkoh while the rest of the families resettled recently in Helmand, Farah, Faryab and Badghis provinces. But, the provincial police chief assured that precautionary measures are taken against attacks of the 2 groups in the province.

However, Abdul Hamid Natiqi, a member of the provincial council, said the allegiance took place due to the fact that the Taliban wish to use the Daesh in order to create instability in the province. He reported on the disagreements between the Daesh leaders and said some of the commanders of the group were not content with the allegiance to the Taliban and hence went to other parts of the province.

Previously, the 2 insurgent groups clashed with each other over differences. While the Daesh has not commented on the issue. Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, a spokesman for the Taliban, expressed unawareness of this development.

Previously talks of allegiance between Taliban and Daesh were reported, but without any outcome.
