Daesh militants recruiting child soldiers in Ghor

10/06/2017

FEROZ KOH (SW): A top security official in Ghor province has said the pro-Daesh rebels are gaining foothold in this part of the country, and increasingly recruiting children in their ranks.

Reacting to a viral social media video about Daesh’s activities in Ghor, the provincial police chief Ghulam Mustafa said the militants are trying to establish bases in the northern parts of the Feroz Koh city. He added the pro-Daesh rebels are recruiting children, and paying each of them up to AFN 40 per day.

A day earlier, a video went viral on the social media showing armed men hiding their faces, praising the so-called Islamic State (IS) and its leader Al-Baghdadi, and declaring their allegiance to him. Up to 100 people can be seen in this four-minute video performing military drills.

Last month, pro-Daesh rebels in Ghor abducted six farmers from the province, and their whereabouts are not known yet.
