SHEBERGHAN (SW): Pro-Daesh militants abducted 35 young girls and women from Sar-i-Pul province, local officials in Jawzjan said on Tuesday.

Haleema Sadaf, a member of the Jawzjan provincial council, told Salam Watandar the militants took away these women and girls from Mirza Olang valley in Sar-i-Pul province’s Sayad district last night. This female member of Jawzjan PC said the militants also comprised of Chechen, Uzbekistani, Kyrgyz and Arab origin terrorists. She charged the women and girls have been taken away to Jawzjan’s Qazal Ghos and Sar Dara districts for ‘sexual pleasure’.

Meanwhile, Capt. Ismael, police chief for Jawzjan’s Darzab district, has said the militants have brought with them their families including women and girls, and have kept them in the district. He lamented that repeated calls for military operation here have fallen on deaf ears in the provincial government as well as in Kabul. He warned that the number of foreign militants in the district is on the rise.

Darzab district governor Baz Mohammad, also acknowledged reports about women and girls from Ghor and Jalalabad brought here.

The Daesh militants have not commented on this so far.
