Daesh locks schools demanding fines

SHEBERGHAN (SW): A source in Jawzjan province on conditions of anonymity told Salam Watandar that recently Qari Hikmatullah, a Daesh commander, in a meeting with educators has demanded to lock school till further notice and pay 20 thousand afghanis as fine and one month salary of the teachers.

Aminullah Amin, the chief of Ghosh Tapa district, talking to Salam Watandar confirmed the matter and said, the Daesh rebels in a meeting with the educators and provincial education authorities in Khan Aqa area of the district demanded to lock 14 schools till further notice and pay one month of educator’s salary to the group. “In the 14 schools locked by Daesh, 8 thousand students were being educated by 220 teachers”, added Amin.

But, Mohammad Riza Ghafori, provincial governor’s spokesman, told Salam Watandar that the provincial administration has not received an official complaint against the Daesh rebels’ demands.
