KABUL (SW) – Abdullah Abdullah, leader of the Stability and Partnership electoral team, on Thursday urged the election commissions not to allow anyone to commit fraud.
Addressing a moot in Kabul, Abdullah said there is a ‘conspiracy’ hatched against his team and the national unity, but they are aware of the plot.
Referring to the rival camp ‘State Builder’ by the incumbent President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, Abdullah said all endeavors of the rival camp are ‘entrenched in lies’.
Mohammad Karim Khalili, leader of the Islamic Unity Party, said at the conference that the preliminary results of the presidential election were not acceptable to the people at all and a government based on the ‘lies’ would not be accept. He stressed political parties would not allow the Election Complaints Commission to approve the results.
On the other hand, the Coalition of Political Parties for Salvation of Afghanistan, told a separate meeting in Kabul today that the Election Complaints Commission should address electoral complaints in accordance with the law and the Electoral Code.
It also called on the IEC to announce the final results of the presidential election as soon as possible.
