KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Education on Saturday issued a directive out rightly banning collection of money from students and teachers for renovation or any other purposes in schools.
The MoE statement added that this trend has given birth to excuses for corruption, and has caused concerns among parents and students. The intelligence directorate at the Ministry of Education has been tasked to probe the matter, and bring the culprits involved in collecting money from students and teachers in public schools to justice.
Earlier this month, the MoE also banned the cutting or shaving of hairs in schools as a punishment tool.
This comes as Salam Watandar published a report about students in Baghlan provinces directed by concerned administration to bring wood or blocks for construction of the classrooms.
