06/11/2016

SAR-I-PUL (SW): Militants have forced thousands of families to leave their homes in Sar-i-Pul province.

These families have now taken refuge in Darzab district of Jawzjan province. According to reports, the insurgents have charged these families for supporting the government forces. They said that the militants have warned them to death if they dare to return to their homes.

In the meantime, Rahmatullah Hashar, the district chief in Darzab, stated that the pro-Daesh militants have forced as many as 250 families from Shatud village of Saiyad district to evacuate their homes. He added that the militants have charged them for supporting the government. Hashar noticed that even greater tragedy might occur if the government did not pay attention to these displaced families.

Besides, Zabihullah Amani, the spokesperson for governor in Sar-i-Pul, noted that cleansing operation has been launched in Saiyad district against the militants, and the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) would eliminate the rebels.
