MAIMANA (SW) – Students of a kindergarten in Faryab province on Thursday staged a demonstration urging the Taliban to ceasefire during the Eid al-Fitr.
The young students of this kindergarten in provincial capital Maimana city were holding signboards with slogans such as ‘ceasefire, ceasefire’. They also urged the security forces to shun violence during the important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
The manager of Behesht Gulha kindergarten, Ms Mehbooba, said on the occasion that this demonstration was aimed at putting an end to the bloodshed that has made many children orphan across the country.
