KABUL (SW): Nargis Azaryun, a second year political science student at the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) says this university is ideal for young Afghan girls seeking world class higher education.
She was first introduced to the university by friends, and is now grateful to be there. Azaryun, aside from her pursuit for higher education, also learned English as a second language at the AUAF. She got admission at the AUAF after successfully competing for a scholarship by the American Embassy in Kabul.
“AUAF is different from other education centers in the country due to its teaching methods and the academic environment”, says Azaryun. The professors at AUAF are from best universities of the world, and are experts in their methods of teaching, she acknowledges. She went on to say the curriculum at the AUAF is in line with the standard academic material of most famous universities around the world. She adores the friendly campus environment. “For me, the campus environment is ideal. Without any prejudice, the students and faculty members co-exist in a very friendly atmosphere”, asserts Azaryun.
Narigs Azaryun pointed to an issue which is very visible in the other universities of the country. “Gender is a prevailing issue everywhere, but the AUAF is a much safer place for women and girls to study”, she believes.
According to Azaryun, her experience at the AUAF has given her an opportunity to meet the elites, and have a different perspective for the future. She believes the AUAF graduates have the plans and knowledge to be the leaders of the future.
