KABUL (SW): Afghanistan women’s football team would play its last South Asian Football Championship next month in India.
In line with the FIFA’s new arrangements, Afghanistan has been moved from the South Asian zone to the Central Asian zone hence this is the last time the Afghan side would feature in the South Asian Football Championship. Draws for the next month’s tournament were held today.
The 10-day tournament would begin on December 26 and the final match would be played on January 04. As per plan, two top teams of the tournament would reach the semi-final stage.
In its Group B, Afghanistan would play against the hosts India and Bangladesh in the group stages. The country's women team encounters India on December 27 it is going to line up against Bangladesh on December 29.
Other three teams of the tournament are Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan and Nepal.
