Afghan Taliban declare Jihad against Pakistani Taliban

10/04/2016

MAIMANA (SW): A group of Afghan Taliban declared Jihad (Holy War) against Pakistani Taliban in northern Faryaab province.

A video clip released by the Afghan militants show a group of armed Taliban holding a white flag and harshly slamming Pakistani Taliban and Pakistan’s policy towards Afghanistan.

They called Pakistani militants as anti-Islamic and enemies of Afghanistan. It is said that Mullah Mehrab is the commander for the Afghan Taliban group in Faryaab.

He said in the video that he has been fooled by Pakistanis for years and now it is the time to stand against them.

The video has been captured by a mobile phone.

Mullah Mehrab’s comments suggest that Mullah Omar, Taliban leader, has been killed by Pakistan and his dead body has been disappeared.

Though he didn’t say anything about joining the peace talks but his recent stance shows his interest to join the peace process.

Sayed Anwar Sadaat, Governor of Faryaab, confirming the news, said that this group has link with Mullah Mohammad Rasool and a few months back took control of three villages from Mullah Mansoors’ men.

He said that this rift and tension reveals the truth. He urged upon other groups to no longer let foreigners take advantage of them and instead they should try to take part in the progress of their country.

Nizamuddin Qaisar, Police Chief in Qaisar, told Salam Watandar that they would do their best to convince this group to come and join the peace process and give up fighting with the government.
