Afghan men’s football team sank 5 ranks according to FIFA

KABUL (SW): The Afghan national men’s football squad sank 5 ranks lower from 151 to 156 in the latest FIFA ranking.

Last month, the Afghan team was holding 151th rank with 192 points, but the points were reduced to 172 as Afghanistan played no match this month. Based on the new ranking, the Afghan football squad in Asian teams ranks 28th and in the South Asian teams it ranks 3rd after India and Maldives.

The national football team will go against Vietnam in the 3rd round of selection rounds for the Asia Cup 2019 on the 27, March. According to the FIFA website, in February 2017, the German national team, which won the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil, is ranked third with 1,433 points after Brazil ranking second with 1534 points while Argentina is holding top rank with 1644 points.
