KABUL (SW) – Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah has said he has no pre-conditions for the launch of intra-Afghan peace talks.
At Monday’s weekly session of the Council of Ministers, he said that the provision of conditions for the start of peace talks reflects delays and non-compliance with the will of the Afghan people. However, he stressed, the conditions can be put forward in talks with an inclusive delegation representing all people
Abdullah added that not preconditioning start of peace talks does not mean giving up on the people's right. He added peace is the wish of all the people of Afghanistan.
The Chief Executive welcomed tangible reduction of violence before the proposed intra-Afghan talks begin.
Earlier, President Ashraf Ghani had cited a ceasefire as a precondition for the peace talks. President Ghani has emphasized that war is not a solution, and that there must be a ceasefire to achieve real peace.
