KABUL (SW): Salam Watandar’s findings suggest that Sayed Mohammad Mosa Jenab, Badghis representative in the Wolesi Jirga supported and equipped armed groups in destabilized Badghis province, which earned him afn 10 million.
According to a security source in the province who did not wish to be named, Sayed Mohammad Mosa Jenab is involved in destabilizing Aab Kamar district in collaboration with Najibullah, Noorullah and Mullah Esmat.
Aab Kamari is considered as one of the vital economic districts with the existence of some 80 percent pistachio trees of the whole province there.
It is said that Mosa Jenab has imposed tax on the citizen’s yield through which he has accumulated a huge sum of money therefore those armed men who have caused insecurity in the district for several years are not Taliban militants at all but his men.
Mosa Jenab supports and equips armed men through the money he earns from pistachio products.
Qazi Abdul Rahim Rahil, Badghis representative in the Parliament, too confirmed that Najibullah one of illegal armed commanders is not a Taliban militant.
He said that Najibullah previously worked for the Afghan National Police (ANP) and after escaping from a judicial case, he resorted to arms and started fighting against the government.
Rahil said that he had recommended plans to the government for disarming and arresting Najibullah but the recommendations were not accepted by security and judicial officials.
In an audio clip, Sayed Mosa Jenab is heard talking to 40 armed men. This group is commanded by Mullah Esmat and are active in Aab Kamari district.
In his conversation, Mosa jenab asked Mullah Esmat’s armed men to hide their arms in an area and go to conduct a demonstration in Qala-e-Naw city of the province. Sayed Mosa Jenab orders his men to force the civilians to join the demonstration.
In a conversation with SalamWatandar, Mosa Jenab dubbed the issue as a conspiracy against him and accused SalamWatandar’s reporter of taking money from his ‘enemy’ to make this story.
Qazi Abdul Rahim, however said that the main cause of insecurity in Aab Kamari district is Najibullah and a number of on service ANP men. He added that 93000 hectares of pistachio lands were under the control of government’s armed opponents in 2014 and all the money earned from it went into the pockets of the armed militants.
Another source in Badghis who also did not wish to be named, told Salam Watandar that the armed opponents were not only confined to Sayed Mohammad Mosa Jenab but almost all of the representatives in the parliament from Badghis have armed groups who ensure the political interests of these representatives and have no fear of the government.
Afghan National Security Forces have constantly complained about the pressure from these representatives and would say that a number of these representatives would seek to make money from locals and security forces and kept destabilizing the areas which were under their control.
Aab Kamari was a stable district in the past, which even bore the name of (District of Peace).
Gen.Abdul Rauf, Badghis Police Chief, said that recently the armed opposition attacked over Aab Kamari and Qadis districts and after hours of fighting, security forces successfully thwarted their offensives.
