KABUL (SW) – A technical committee of the Peace Initial Contact Group (PICG) of the government has hosted a Taliban technical delegation in Kabul to hold in-person discussion on matters related to prisoners release.
According to the National Security Council, the two sides held face-to-face negotiations about the release of Afghan National Defense and Security Force personnel as well as Taliban prisoners
"The PICG technical committee and the Taliban delegation made progress on technical matters and will reconvene today for more negotiations. The @ICRC observed the meeting", said the NSC.
A three-member Taliban delegation reached Kabul on Tuesday for the prison swap, the group's spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahed, announced.
