KANDAHAR (SW) – Authorities in Kandahar claimed to have killed at least 76 Taliban insurgents in joint air and ground offensives.
Jamal Nasir Barakzai, spokesman for the police, told Salam Watandar a total of 55 insurgents were killed in joint air and ground offensives by the Afghan and U.S. forces in Shorabak district last night. He added this was followed by similar raids in Arghistan district killing 18 more insurgents.
At least three more Taliban insurgents are reported killed in Maiwand district of the province. Barakzai said more than 30 insurgents were wounded in the offensives.
The Taliban are yet to comment on it.
