KABUL (SW) – The halted peace talks with the U.S. would resume soon, the Taliban spokesman, Suhil Shaheen told Salam Watandar.

The Taliban’s Qatar office spokesman said the talks would resume in a week after consultation with the leadership. He added that during this round of talks the issue of signing the previous agreement was discussed.

According to Shaheen, the U.S. forces are leaving Afghanistan on the basis of the agreement, and the Taliban will not allow terrorist groups to use Afghan soil against the US and its allies. He stressed that the peace agreement will begin when the agreement is signed.

New round of US-Taliban peace talks temporarily got suspended after Taliban attack on a health center near Bagram Air Base in which two civilians were killed and 70 others were injured.
