BADGHES (SW) – Hundreds of the Taliban rebels stormed Afghan National Army bases in Badghes province’s Murghab district late on Friday.
Abdul Aziz Baik, chairman for the provincial council, told Salam Watandar some two to three hundred rebels stormed and overran two ANA check posts in the Akazay village of the said district. He confirmed one soldier got killed, seven more got wounded and 12 soldiers are missing.

He feared the district would fell to the Taliban if the additional troops are not sent to the area soon.
Spokesman for the provincial governor, Jamshed Shahabi, has confirmed one soldier got killed and five more got wounded as the Taliban overran one ANA check post in the area. He vowed additional troops have already reached the area to push the rebels back.
The Taliban claimed via a statement that they have killed 7 soldiers and abducted six more besides confiscating arms and ammunition from two check posts.
