26/11/2017

PARUN (SW): A number of policemen in Nuristan province’s Do Aab district claimed they have not received proper ration and uniforms for the past three years.

In conversation with Salam Watandar, the policemen wished not to be named, said they have not received proper ration and uniforms, and are serving in dire state. They added despite surge in fighting, they are faced with shortage of resources.

The Do Aab district in Nuristan has been besieged by the Taliban for the past one year now. The policemen here said they do not receive salaries on time, but via second or third person in Jalalabad city.

Fida Mohammad Amin, governor of the district, acknowledged that the policemen here have not been provided with proper resources since past three years. He added food rations are bought directly from the market.

Meanwhile, Col. Ghulam Mohaiuddin Sarwari, police chief for the province, has discarded such reports. He claimed all necessary supplies are ensured in time.
