PUL-I-ALAM (SW): The provincial directorate for education in Logar has launched up to 30 development projects worth AFN 60 million.
Shahpur Arab, spokesman for the directorate of education, told a presser on Saturday that these projects would be implemented in the provincial capital Pul-e-Alam, and Mohammad Agha, Khushi, Baraki Barak and Sarkh districts. The spokesman added all of these projects would be implemented in six months’ time.
Sharing details, the directorate of education spokesman said these projects include developing three new academic centers and rebuilding 27 others. The new schools would be developed for women and girls, for nomads and one center for research.
Up to 35,000 students are likely to benefit from these projects.
The education sector in the province is seriously marred by insurgency. The only high-school graduate in the Kharwar district of Logar province in the past 12 years had lost his life in a landmine blast.
