KABUL (SW): A privately-owned postal service called "Air Parcel" began operating in Kabul.
The Air Parcel officials said the company has invested more than 2 million dollars in the postal services, and in the future, the investment will increase to 3 million dollars.
Mohib Sheer, the Air Parcel official, announced at a press conference here in Kabul on Saturday that the investment will contribute to the country's economic growth and provide employment opportunities for young people. "The company will operate the capital and will cover all provinces of the country after 18 months”, added Sheer.
Khan Jan Alokozai, the deputy of Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries, at the conference, said that such investments bring Afghanistan closer to self-sufficiency in the economic sector. He urged the government to take serious measures to secure investors and businessmen in the country.
The Air Parcel officials added that the company ships 20 to 50 kilograms of postal items with low prices. They want the government to pave ways for investments in the country.
