KABUL (SW): The Ministry of Public Works signed 4 contracts for the construction of roads in Kabul, Maidan Wardak, Parwan and Farah provinces with the aid fund of Japan and development budget of the government here in Kabul on Tuesday.
Yama Yari, the acting minister of Public Works, addressing a press conference said that the contracts include the Maidan Wardak road worth 209 million afghanis, the Kakardara district road including 90 bridges worth 317 million afghanis, the Bagh-i-Puljoy Ghulaman road in Farah, worth 331 million afghani, and the construction of the Red Valley road of Parwan.
He added that the Shakardara road which includes 90 bridges will be completed in 17 months. According to him, along with the construct of roads, the projects will also build retaining walls in these provinces.
The authorities of the Ministry of Public Works urged the local people to help the Ministry in the implementation of the projects and have a close oversight on the implementation of the projects.
