Mortar kills 3 children in MAIDAN Wardak

MAIDAN SHAR (SW): Local authorities have said a mortar hit has claimed 3 children’s lives in Said Abad district of Maidan Wardak province.

The incident took place late afternoon on Wednesday when the security forces were fighting the Taliban insurgents in Zarin Khel area of Said Abad district.

Abdul Rahman Mangal, provincial governor’s spokesman told Salam Watandar that the security forces were fighting the Taliban when a mortar hit a civilian’s house of one named ‘Ghulam Hazrat’ which killed 3 children and injured one woman. “The locals claimed that the mortar was fired by the security forces. The governor has guided for an investigation into the incident of civilian deaths”, informed Mangal.
