KABUL (SW): Afghanistan’s premier football club, Shaheen Asmayee would take on Dhaka Mohammadan in the ongoing Shaikh Kamal Football Cup (SKFC) in Dhaka, Bangladesh on Friday.
On Wednesday, Shaheen Asmayee impressively beat Nepal’s Manang Football Club 3-1 in this ongoing tournament.
Captain of the Afghan club Amaruddin Sharifi played key role to record this first victory in the ongoing tournament. He scored all three goals for the visitors, and become the only Afghan to score a hat trick. He scored two goals in the first half and the third on in the 77th minute in second half of the game.
The Nepali side was outshined by the visitors during the game.
Shaheen Asmayee lost its first match to the host country’s Chittagong Abhai Football Club 1-3.
This is the second edition of the SKFC. Spinghar Bazan took part in the first edition of this tournament from Afghanistan last year, and secured the fourth rank. Winner of the tournament is set to receive cash prize of $ 30, 000 while the runners-up would be awarded with the cash prize of $ 15000.
Afghanistan would play its last match of the group stage against Dhaka Mohammadan on Friday.
