KABUL (SW): Afghan cricket stars Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan returned to Kabul on Thursday after their maiden and successful season with the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Nabi and Rashid were part of the Sun-Risers Hyderabad, the runner-up for the IPL in India. The Sun-Risers Hyderabad did reach to the second round, but lost a crucial match to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Wednesday. However, both Nabi and Rashid did make a mark with their impressive display of cricket in this format of the game.
Rashid in particular impressed cricket lovers with his leg-spin. He played in 13 matches and bagged 17 wickets. Nabi was given chance to play in three matches, and he took two wickets. Both were welcomed by Atif Mashal, Chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), other officials and hundreds of fans at the Hamid Karzai International Airport in the afternoon.
Upon their arrival, the two took part in the ground breaking ceremony for a mosque inside the ACB headquarters in Kabul.
