KUNDUZ CITY (SW): Residents in northern province Kunduz are concerned over the rumors that the province will fall to the militants again.
Officials in the province however assured that such incident would never happen again.
Asadullah Omarkheyl, governor in Kunduz, said that such rumors are only propagandas by the enemy aimed at weakening the residents’ morale.
Speaking during a press conference on Monday, he said that the air raids operation which is jointly carried out by Afghan security forces and Nato, has badly weakened the militants.
He said that they would conduct mop-up operation in the villages across the province right after Eid.
Fatema Aziz, an MP, however said that the residents in the province are fed up with such remarks and promises on mop-up operation and they want to see action not empty words.
Expressing grim concerns over growing insecurity in Kunduz, she urged upon security officials in the country to do their best to ensure securrity in the province as soon as possible.
