Campaign members of a WJ candidate killed

KUNAR (SW) – A candidate for the Wolesi Jirga (lower house) elections in Kunar has blamed the security forces for killing three members of his family.

Attaullah Safi, the candidate, said the security forces stormed a house in his neighborhood last night, and later attacked his home as well. He said the three people killed by the security forces were his relatives and campaign members.

The incident took place in the Sharalo village of the Narnag district. A resident of the area informed Salam Watandar the Special Forces raided a house belonging to a person named Samar Gul, and the guards of the parliamentary candidate engaged in armed clashes with the security forces.

Mohammad Safi, member of the provincial council, said in this regard the security forces also took away two people from the area with them. Provincial officials have not commented on this matter so far.
