KABUL (SW) – A number of independent candidates for the parliamentary elections on Wednesday urged the government to increase number of seats for the capital, Kabul, in the parliament.
Hafeezullah Barekzai, chairman for the independent candidates’ cooperation council, stressed, 34 seats are not sufficient for a populated city such Kabul.
The council expressed fears over assassinations of parliamentary candidates, and urged the government to provide security to candidates.
