KABUL (SW): Abdullah Abdullah, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Unity Government (NUG) has chosen ‘not to comment’ on the fierce criticism directed at him by Atta Mohammad Noor, the Chief Executive of Jamiat-e-Islami party, and governor of Balkh province.
Earlier this week, Atta Mohammad Noor blamed Abdullah Abdullah for being ‘secretive’ in his affairs, and not toeing the line of the Jamiat-e-Islami party. Noor said he ‘regrets’ supporting Abdullah as the party’s candidate in the 2014 Presidential Elections.
Mujibur Rahman, spokesman for the CEO, said all leaders of the government should respect the administrative set-ups and the law. “As the Chief Executive has no opinion about the latest remarks by the governor of Balkh, so as his spokesman I would only say that all leaders of the government should respect the administrative set-ups and the law, and take into account the sensitivities of the government affairs”, he said.
There were reports in the press about Noor having some sort of negotiations as a representative of the Jamiat-e-Islami party with the President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani. It was followed by re-appointment of Noor as governor of Balkh province, and later Noor’s harsh criticism directed at Abdullah Abdullah.
