LASHKARGAH (SW): Authorities in the southern Helmand province claimed to have liberated 35 civilians, including women and children from the Taliban’s captivity.
Umar Zwak, spokesman for the provincial governor told journalists on Saturday that the dismantled prison was operating in a place situated between Nad-e-Ali and Marja districts.
He noted that the Afghan Special Forces (ASF) conducted the raid in which 7 Taliban militants, including a notorious commander tasked with guarding the prison have also been nabbed.
As per his comments, among those liberated, included 25 children, 5 women and five elderly men.
This is the third such facility of the militants dismantled by the ASF in the past two months.
In January, the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) liberated 59 people from the captivity of the Taliban militants in the Nahrul Saraj district. Another Taliban cell was broken by the ANSF in Nawzad district.
